Lesson Taught
caring for trees
Abraham met eight Buluvu community members and the purpose was to check how the members planted trees so that if they did not follow the guidelines it is easy to change them because they have not yet brought up the tap roots. It started raining before he reached to Buluvu and it rained up to Buluvu, he found some members inside the house whereby he joined them to wait for the rain to stop. They started discussing how they will go forward to finish the exercise of checking those remaining members. The chairman LC1 suggested that they can have two members together with him who will be going around checking how the members planted the trees to make sure they followed the guidelines given to them by Kibo. The members present welcomed the idea and they selected Namusoke and Rose to join the LC1 chairman to finish the work of checking and advising them where necessary. They wanted to move and check trees of some few members but the rain came back and Abraham told the chairman and the selected members to finish the exercise so that they can go to the next lesson. The chairman said some members have come to him asking for trees to plant but he told them to wait until he communicates to Kibo. Abraham told him that Kibo gave them those trees to plant but may be when the district forest officer will visit them as a government he may give them some trees to plant but also that will come after them caring for the trees Kibo gave them well.
