Healthy and Safe Kitchens
Harriet went to Naibowa village to follow up on smearing of the home facilities, stove usage, firewood storage, repairing of the facilities that were destroyed by rainfall as well mobilize participants to attend stoves and borehole commissioning. She reached in the village and was received by pastor Wilber who volunteered to walk with her to the homes of the participants to inspect their home facilities. They walked over thirty homes and the good news was most participants had smeared their home facilities, well decorated them showing how much they loved the healthy and safe kitchen program. Also most participants were using their stoves on daily basis basis and this was evidenced by the absence of the traditional open flames in the kitchen and finding food cooking by itself in the kitchen. Most participants had firewood risen stands in their kitchen well stocked with firewood. They told Harriet that because of the stoves and firewood storage their have in their kitchens they are not stressed for firewood especially during this rainy season. Harriet also observed that some participants whose home facilities like kitchens which were destroyed by rain fall had been repaired and this was very encouraging. She also also reminded the participants about the stoves and borehole commissioning on 19th May 2021 and the participants promised to mobilize each other to attend. She also encouraged the participants to maintain their home facilities in order to last longer and look neat. The participants thanked kibo for the follow up and always encouraging them.
