Introduction Manuela went to bulyowa to teach about the importance of abstinence and how parents can help their children to Delay sex till marriage. This lesson is aimed at educating participants about how important their children would be if they talk to their children about dangers of early sex. Since parents in this community fear to talk to their children about sex that it’s a taboo, Manuela encouraged them to try and talk to their children if they want their children to be responsible citizens in feature. Objective By the end of this lesson, participants will be able to know all the importance of abstinence to their children. By the end of this lesson, participants will know different ways of helping their children in delaying sex. Overview Since Manuela had taken two weeks without going to this village due to some certainties, the community members were happy to see Manuela some women run and welcomed her, Manuela was happy to see her participants showing her that love and respect, after some minutes members came in large numbers and had to start teaching. Manuela started by asking the participants questions about the previous lessons, fortunately some members were able to recall and share their ideas about what they learnt previously. Manuela introduced another lesson on the importance of abstinence and ways of helping young people to delay sex. Manuela told the community members that sex in Africa is a taboo more especially to the young people, parents fear to approach their children on that matter yet these young children are seriously practicing sex because of several factors which they need to be talked to about. Manuela told the participants that from today she wants them to start talking to their children about the effects of early sex practices. Manuela told the community members that all of them want their children to be successful in feature but if they don’t talk to them about effects of early sex then they will lose their in to many problems like early marriages and early pregnancy etc. after all explanation, she asked one of the participants to explain how virginity was valued in the years of 70’s, one of the participants said that during their years, if a girl was found virgin, her unties would be given a lot of gifts and the parents of this girl would been seen responsible parents in the village and that women would be more loved than others who were not found virgin. Then Manuela asked them how about today ? They all said aaaaa then Manuela said you are going to write aaaa in your different groups, Manuela divided the members in to three groups. AB and C, group A discussed about reason why young people say yes to early sex practice, group B discussed about reasons for saying no and the group C discussed about different ways of helping young people from delaying early sex. After the group discussion, each group had a representative who had to present what transpired in their different, for example during the presentation,groups A sighted some of the answers like, the reason why young people say yes to sex due lack of basic needs, curiosity, that every one is doing it, parents sharing rooms with children, parents insulting their sons that they are not men enough that can also make them to say yes to sex, fearing that the relationship may end and among others, groups B answers were reason for saying no to sex fear of pregnancy, fears of HIV and other related STDs , family expectation, Religious expectancy, wanting to finish education and others, then finally group C said that as parents they encouraged their children not to move alone at night, talk to them about the problems of early pregnancy which result from early sex, this group also said that as parents they will provide to their all the necessities needed by their children, they will encourage their children to avoid night disco and others. it was a good presentation, during this time participants from different groups would also disagree and agreed on answers which were wrong. After all that reach Manuela stepped in and reviewed all what the participants presented , she awarded them marks and appreciated them for doing good job. Finally she gave the home work on the causes and dangers of Alcoholism.
