Notes
Jeska went to Kazimba Kungira to continue teaching participants how to practically teach participants how to build stoves. She reached in the village and found some few participants at the meeting place. The challenge with this village the level of participants is still low and those ones who get stoves they don’t want to work for other though they formed policies to address that concern. There is also lack of respect for one another and most of them are drunkards who spend most of their time in bars drinking. Jeska told the few participants present that if they don’t improve on the number of participants , Kibo is going to quit their village. The few participants present begged for forgiveness and promised to improve on the number of participants and also to encourage those who got stoves to continue working for the rest of the members in the group. Jeska warned them that if you they continue dodging working for others in the group, Kibo will dismantle their stoves too so that they also loose. She also told them that Kibo has shared the challenge they face in their village with the Community development Officer at iwemba sub county . The community had already identified a member to get a stove( Odong James). Then Kibo asked the participants to mix the dirt and grass at a ratio of 2:1, stamp the dirt as Kibo staff was watching. The participants later made small balls out of the dirt and moved it into the kitchen where a stove was going to be built. She tasked the participants to try to measure and cut the banana stems as she watched. The participants couldn’t do it however she guided them how to best do it. At the end a stove was build by the community with a lot of guidance from Kibo staff. In this community there are two active men, Everest and Alexander who took the lead in building in stoves. Jeska encouraged these men to keep on practicing because practice makes perfect.
