Harriet went to Ndalike village to carry out evaluation to assess the impact of the healthy and safe kitchens program. She reached in the village and was received by Mugote Goerge the secretary of the Healthy and safe kitchens program who volunteered to walk with her. She walked home to home as she asked questions to the participants and recorded their responses. She also observed to compare the information the participants were giving her. She successfully reached 31 responded. According to the findings most participants were cooking on their stoves on daily basis , this was evidenced by the absence of the traditional open flames, finding food cooking by itself, being attended by children. The participants said that the healthy and safe kitchens program has greater impacted their lives by improving marriage relationship, improving Sanitation and hygiene standards,uniting the community because it encouraged them to work as a team. One participants “ Edward” said the program encouraged him to work hand in hand with his wife especially cooking food together because the stove made the kitchen so comfortable for him. He said that even the reduced cases of fire accidents makes him comfortable when he sees children cooking food. Some Participants also said that they learnt how to build stoves and Harriet encouraged them to scale out to the neighboring communities.
