Mvule Community Development

caring for trees
Notes
Abraham and Alex B met thirteen Buluvu community members and as the purpose was to teach them how to care for trees by putting cages around their trees, they decided to move checking the trees so that they learn as they practice. They moved to ten homes checking the trees and their biggest problem was that every home they reached they wanted them to have something like tea or food whereby it takes much time to do the work. They had something in the first home so it would look bad to refuse from other homes and Abraham and Alex B told the members to accept because in Busoga culture if someone offers something to you and you refuse it he or she will think you do not like them. They moved to the home of Kawanguzi Stephen who told them that he took five Mvule seedlings and they are all alive but the Musizi he has two out of five he planted. They checked his trees and Mvule trees are looking good and they put cages around them to protect them from animals or someone not to step on them. They continued to check the trees and they managed to go to more nine homes after Stephen where they found that Musizi seedings some died but the Mvule seedlings all are alive but they have little rain by now. They discussed and those members Namukose, the chairman LC1 and Rose who checked how they planted the tees to make sure they followed the guidelines they were given to continue with the exercise of checking the members where they agreed to do. They will continue checking the Buluvu upper because they concentrated on the lower part.
