Notes
Tape and Jessica went to the village to follow up on the stove usage, smearing and also to discuss with the local leaders on how to resume work after the lockdown. When they got down, they went to the meeting place and found some leaders gathered who warmly welcomed them. Before walking around the village, they first sat down and discussed the way forward to resuming the program activities. The chairman L.c.1 Alexander opened the meeting and then said on behalf of other members in the community, they were all doing well and have never received any person suffering from Covid-19 virus in their village which was good news to hear. He said they only heard of death in the districts and got all the information concerning the virus through the radios. He then requested Kibo staff to go ahead and address them where Jessica started by asking if they were ready to resume work while following the sops . However they will continue working in small groups when building the stoves so as to promote social distance. The leaders agreed to that and promised to inform other members about the suggested plans. Later after, Tape,Jessica and two leaders briefly walked around the village and monitored the stove usage and smearing of the buildings. Most people had smeared their buildings during the lockdown and the women were found cooking on their new stoves which was so impressive to see. Kibo staff thanked the community for the good work done and encouraged them to continue improving on their facilities as well as mobilize themselves for the next coming meeting.
