Notes
Tape walked with some members to see whether the stoves that were built earlier were being used on daily basis. Interestingly they were all being used on daily basis and this was evidenced by the absence of the traditional three stones fire in the village. She also observed that most participants had smeared their home facilities showed how much they kept the program going on despite the lock down. The participants said that they were motivated and encouraged by Kibo staff phone calls during the lock thus able to continue smearing their home facilities. Since the community had tested the benefit of the stoves, they had already gathered the materials for building another stove in their village and requested Tape to take them the through. Tape asked them to divide themselves into two groups whereby each group consisted of four people. Four people were in charge of stamping the dirt were as other four were in charge of smothering the stove. This promoted active participation with out violating Standard operating procedures which were put in place by the ministry of health. At the end of the day one stove was built in this village. The community was encouraged to continue following the standard operating procedures to avoid the spread of Covid 19.
