Harriet tagged along with Enoch to meet the local leaders of Igerera A to introduce the Healthy and safe kitchens program. This was intended for kibo to transition from Water sanitation and hygiene to Healthy and safe kitchen. Also to create easy understanding to the community that all these programs are in kibo group and work hand in hand.
During the meeting the community local leaders were so thankful to kibo group for the positive change brought in their village and promised to continue partnering with Kibo group for any program that will be brought in their village. The secretary for the women’s affairs Ms.Bawate Hadijja said that the Healthy and safe kitchen program may help to reduce the rampant cases of domestic violence in Igerera A that she has always received in her office as a result of food taking long to get ready.During the meeting it was agreed that they will divide their village into two groups to avoid a big gathering that will violate the standard operating procedures that may easily lead to the spread of covid 19.By the end of the meeting the leaders asked Kibo staff to come back to their village on Wednesday 1/09/2021 to meet the entire community so that they are able to receive first hand information from kibo group.
