Notes
Jeska and Tape met 11 participants (5 women and 4 men)and taught them how to practically build stoves. This is the second stove to be built in the village for one of the participants called George. This time the participants were tasked to participate in mixing the dirt as Kibo staff corrected them. This was intended to ensure that the participants learn how to build stoves because practice makes perfect. Also the community chose George for the stove because he was active in the program and had all his home facilities smeared thus qualified for the stove. Kibo staff also involved the participants in stamping the dirt . Also the participants reminded each other about the policies they set their selves as the implement the program . These included being participatory in the program from the beginning to the end. Kibo staff asked George to always maintain his stove by smearing it to prevent it from cracking and to prevent children from playing around it that may spoil the stove. When the stove was done George was very excited and eager to know when to start coming on this stove because he wants to get rid of the traditional three stones open flames. Kibo staff told him to wait for more three weeks after removing banana stems to allow it to dry well before cooking on it.
