Suzan went to the village to follow up on the stove usage, building and smearing of the houses. This was important because most of the kitchens and other facilities needed to be smeared and also some community members didn’t know how to cook on their fuel efficient stoves.
Suzan arrived on time and found that most members were still attending attending to their gardens because it had rained the previous night. She managed to meet three of the active participants Mugoya, Betty and Alice who agreed to walk her through the village as they monitored different facilities.
During the process, Suzan observed that some members had neatly smeared their stoves and buildings such as the latrines, shower areas and main houses. Other members had smoke stuck inside their kitchens because they didn’t place another saucepan to a second cooking part of the stove.
Suzan showed them what to do as she explained how they should always make sure they took out the ash from the stoves to enable them come well. She also encouraged them to continue smearing all their buildings and stoves to avoid dust and other diseases.
Smearing can also make buildings look neat and last longer. She encouraged them to continue working together and attend all the program lessons for an effective development in the village. She then wished them the best and left.
