- Maria and Irene were in Nawandyo A, for a door to door mobilization of community members to come for health lessons, inform them of the visiting dates,time,venue for meetings,observe the village for general hygiene, pregnant women for antenatal visits, breastfeeding mothers children under five years for nutrition and immunization appointments and also talk to the chairman and VHT about the next visit. The chairman was so grateful to have another group from Kibo come to their village after the community empowerment program and he said all the achievements they have were as a result of Kibo’s efforts and hard work. He also informed the community members that they should continue to embrace all the gifts from the basket (Kibo) because of the so much love they have shown their village. During their visits to various homes Maria and Irene identified health related issues like malnutrition in some homes, need to advise on family planning, and improving on hygiene as some of the major issues to be addressed in the first stages in this village. Further still Irene and Maria encouraged the community members to come and learn more about their health and the health way of living as one way of avoiding spending money on medical bills in hospitals.
