Notes
Tape went to the village to guide the members how to build stoves on their own. When she arrived, she went to one of the homes where the stove was going to be built and found that they had already finished building the stove although it wasn’t constructed perfectly. She first explained while correcting their mistakes just to make sure they did it perfectly next time they built the stove on their own . Later after, they walked to madam rose’s house and began stamping the dirt while singing, which also attracted more new members to join in because the whole activity was carried out while music was played. The members started building the stove as Kibo staff guided them because they haven’t mastered most of the skills very well especially taking measurements both on the floor and between the saucepans. During the building process, some members who had already began cooking on their stoves reported that they were enjoying all the benefits of the new improved stoves such as cooking food faster and on time, saving firewood yet they no longer suffered from smoke because it went out through the vents. At the end of the activity, Tape thanked everyone for participating in the lessons and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit of working together for better results. She also requested them to continue improving on their facilities especially smearing all their houses and constructing firewood storages since most kitchens lacked them according to observations. They wished each other a happy stay and the meeting came to an end.
