Notes
Diana went to Nawandyo B to teach about chores and responsibilities. The turn up was good compared to the previous visits. The chairman mr. Kiige welcomed everyone and thanked the community for attending and keeping time. He also thanked Kibo for their committed work towards their community. He said that they have greatly benefited from its programs. He then welcomed Diana to take them through the lesson. Diana thanked them for their devotion in attending community empowerment lessons. She encouraged them to keep up the same spirit. She told them not to forget their masks because they are part of them now. They agreed that they will try to do so. Diana told them that it is not trying but it is a command to their lives. Diana took them through a recap of the previous lesson which was very participatory. I love the way the community was active. Diana introduced the lesson of the day which was chores and responsibilities. She asked them what they understand by chores and it’s importance to the children and the parents. Sofia responded that chores make children active and friendly to the people surrounding them. Khamadi the secretary said that chores develop homes, because when children learn them ,when they are still young, they learn to be responsible. Diana thanked everyone for their beautiful answers. She told them that children imitate what they see, when children are taught chores, they will grow working for themselves and they will not have time to fight for their parents’ properties. Diana added on that the men feel good when the family is happy, when they are well treated. She went on with the lesson which impressed everyone. Khamadi thanked everyone for having made the lesson interesting. He said that they still wanted the lessons to continue, but they will wait till the next visit. He told them that they still need to come on time for the next lesson.
