Notes
Enock made a visit to this village to continue encouraging, guiding and monitor the standard of hand washing stands as well as emphasize proper sanitation and uses of hand washing stands. When one reached he teamed up with the chairman but he was busy and decided to leave him with the vht called Frack who was so excited to see the wash team back in there community. The VHT said many people have really changed in terms of sanitation improvements and development, hand washing facilities have also improved the health conditions of most families who have embraced the sanitation improvements. As we walked around we noticed many people have constructed two hand washing stands in most of their homes and the jerrycans are kept clean. This shows they re using the jerrycans and the stands. There are also some homes which have greatly improved their whole sanitation invested so much by build latrines with bricks, cement and sand. This shows sustainability and people have known the importance of having proper sanitation facilities. During this visit some people asked if we still hand some cement which they can buy at a cheaper price to complete the hand washing stands in few homes which where lagging behind. I asked them to count all the homes which wanted to buy cement and we have a proper number for planning. As we continued walking around we talked about making a proper hand washing survey to know the actual number of hand washing stands constructed.

21129 This home has a nice shower area in the back yard which has a cement ring on top and this will help it to stay stronger
21132 One of the had washing stands which was constructed but didn’t have a jerrycan can. When Enock asked where they had placed the jerrycans they said they had gone to the garden and had to keep it in the house so that it can not be taken by people who sell plastics. So when they had just come back home and said they will place it back in no time.
