Notes
Suzan and Tape went to the village to teach the community members how to build a demonstration stove. They arrived and were happily welcomed by the members who came while singing and dancing praising the stove program. Kibo staff carried a music system to motivate the community while they worked and participated in certain steps such as stamping the dirt together because it would make the work more interesting and easier. The materials were already in place and Kibo staff began measuring basins of dirt while mixing it with the grass. They later stamped the dirt together while singing and dancing until it got ready for building the stove. It was Carried inside the kitchen and Kibo staff only requested a few members at a time to enter the kitchen and watch as they built the stove. However, the owner of the stove Namuganza wanted a smaller stove because she had small saucepans that she used while cooking for her family. Kibo built the stove step by step as they explained to the members in groups until it was complete. The community got so excited on seeing the completed stove and started dancing on the tune of the music played. They thanked Kibo staff for the lessons taught promising to continue attending the other lessons. Tape and Suzan encouraged each one to continue improving on their sanitation and hygiene facilities as well as constructing firewood storages in their kitchens. They thanked everyone for attending the lessons and participating in the activity and the meeting came to an end wishing each other a happy stay.
