Lesson Taught
Bible Lesson 8: Teaching Children
Notes
Ida went to Ndalike to teach about chores and responsibilities in children. She asked the community to tell her some responsibilities they give their children. Some few members shared saying that washing dishes, sweeping the house and compound, cooking, digging, carry young ones at the back. Florence said she goes with her children to work in the sugar cane plantations for money because children are no longer in school. Ida thanked the community members for the great answers and she defined chores. Chores are obligations that a child has to do in order to help their parents or the people living with them. Ida encouraged the community members to continue teaching their children chores and responsibilities but not child labor. Ida also told the community members the importance of teaching children chores.: Chores help child’s growth and motor skills. Chores help children work and share with others. Help children compromise and assign themselves different roles. Chores teach self discipline. Kagoya closed the meeting with a prayer and reminding them of the time to begin the meeting.
