Notes
Diana and Ida went to Bukudhumira to teach about effects and solutions to domestic violence in Bukudhumira community. The community had already gathered ready for the lessons. The secretary mr. Swaibu, opened with a word of prayer and summarized the previous lesson which was on the causes of domestic violence. This lesson was well handled as everyone agreed to it that their homes are being transformed. Diana thanked them for being good students who don’t bore the teacher. They all laughed and said that this lesson directly speaks to them. Diana told them that in most cases when the husband and wife are fighting, they do not mind about their surroundings, which includes their neighbors and children. This domestic violence can lead to death, street kids, poverty, divorce. Diana explained these effects to them. She told them that some people can be imprisoned for their entire lives. She told them that the solutions to these effects can be handled if they realize that they are wrong, and admit to their mistakes. Ida welcomed Ida to come and take them through the solutions to these problems. Ida took them through the solutions. She told them that money issues and marital issues are the ones affecting them so much. Ida said that, these can be handled by both parties participating in the family decisions. She went ahead to tell them, men and women should not shout at themselves before the children or visitors. She encouraged the couple to agree to one another when they are wrong. Patience and trust is a key thing in solving domestic violence. Ida told the parents to love their children and their families, because this will keep the families United. This was grateful to the community empowerment community lesson of Domestic violence. Fazira said that her husband treats her like a queen after attending this lesson.
