Notes
Suzan went along with Maria to the village to follow up on the smearing of the buildings, construction of the firewood storages and some kitchen roofs which needed to be repaired. They arrived on time and found some of the committee group leaders sitting at the meeting place. After welcoming them and exchanging greetings, Suzan first introduced Maria to the members and then reminded them the purpose of the visit that day. But before walking around the village, the group chairperson briefed Suzan about the current status in the village saying that all the program participants were now comfortably cooking on their new firewood saving stoves on a daily basis. She said there were about three members who actively participated in the program activities but haven’t received the stoves because they were planning to construct new kitchens soon when they found free time. It was also agreed by all the other members to work together in building the stoves for those who participated but didn’t have good kitchens by then. The community members were also planning on scaling out to the neighboring villages after some new members showing interest in the stoves . Later after they got up and walked around the village while monitoring some program facilities and according to Suzan’s observations, most members had greatly improved on their facilities and were found cooking on their fuel efficient stoves. She encouraged the rest to continue improving on their facilities since the healthy and safe kitchens program is soon phasing out from the village. She thanked them for all the effort they have put in the program lessons and wished them a happy stay.
