Notes
Tape went along with Kenneth to the village to continue teaching the community members how to build the firewood storages and taking out the banana stems from the previous built stoves. When they got there, they were welcomed by the members who had already gathered and prepared the materials for building the stoves. This time two stoves were going to be built at different homes and Tape requested the members to stand aside and watch as she began building the first stove. Some of the active men tried to participate in stove building which was so encouraging while others kept watching. Tape requested them to keep asking questions during the process so that they mastered the skills easily especially while measuring the basins of dirt and grass and cutting the banana stems. They stamped the dirt together and when it got ready, tape requested a few members to enter the kitchen and watch as she began building the stove. She also made sure she explained to them the importance of each step especially the size of saucepans used and the number of stoves fixed in the stove. When the first stove was completed they went to a second home and built a second stove. Later after, tape with the help of other members went and taught the other community how to take out the banana stems from the old built stoves. The community was so greatful for the lessons taught that day and tape requested each person to see that they improved all their sanitation and hygiene facilities as well as maintaining them. She also requested them to construct the firewood storages in their kitchens which can help them save firewood for the future or during scarcity. Kibo staff thanked the community for attending the program lessons and the meeting came to an end.
