Poultry Day 1
Notes
Ida went to Kigalama B and introduced a poultry lesson. It has been a while since the community asked Ida to help them learn how to keep local chickens. Ida asked how many people had chickens? The whole group raised their hands, but said the only problem was how to raise, treat and feed them. Ida started with teaching how they can make two to five hens hatch at a ago. Ida told them first to Prepare for the hens a place to lay eggs and when the first one starts to incubate, an egg is boiled and given to it as she waits for the others.when the second one starts, the same is done to the next one and when the last one starts, One is to get all the eggs collected and give them starting with the newest one. Remember that each egg was marked the date when it was laid. Also all the bad eggs need to be taken out which are;the, cracked, pointed ,too small ,too big, dirty and the old. When this stage is managed, one will have laid a foundation for their hens to hatch at the same time forever! The most important thing is to love the hens and the work will be enjoyable.Next time we will continue with this lesson part B.
