Enock made a visit to check on the progress of latrine construct, dish rack, shower areas, kitchen areas, rubbish pits, hand washing facilities, emphasize clean compounds and proper usage of all the facilities more so latrines and hand-washing. As he reached the chairman, he walked with the VHTs and LC1 to also learn how we teach, guide, encourage, sensitize the residents to construct sustainable and good standard facilities. We walked in the homes which are around the trading centre and some which are close to the centre to also monitor the progress of sanitation improvements. The good news is that many people have greatly embraced the sanitation and hygiene program, in the homes of Nabirye Rebecca she has taken the initiative to construct good standard facilities even though she is a lady but she wants to be a great example to the rest of the women that all things are possible not to only wait for their husbands. We also visited the homes of Nangobi Christine, Tangole Akuzasi, Mutegule Micheal, Naiganga Betty who have completed the construction of all the facilities in their homes. Enock encouraged them to also encourage their fellow residents to work hard and construct good standard facilities. Most of the home in the trading centre have a challenge of lack of dish racks since most people rent these homes and have no trees to cut down and construct dish racks. They managed to encourage those who can buy already construct dish racks it would be nice. This also gave us an opportunity to teach the residents the importance of dish racks. We also saw how many people have embraced the hand washing construction where most homes have constructed two hand washing stands. Many homes in the trading centre are also completing the construction of hand washing stands. The residents have bought into the usage and construct of hand washing. 

Next Visit

2021-10-15 - Purpose: To take the second batch of cement to the community to complete the construction of hand washing facilities. He will also hold a meeting with the local leaders to focus on homes which are lagging behind and get solutions on how to bring all the residents up to speed. To also talk about the results from the second evaluation survey.

This gentleman is constructing a roof frame for his latrine so that he can be able to roof the latrine structure
