Notes
Enock made a visit to this community to continue teaching, encouraging, educating, monitoring, assessing the progress of sanitation improvements, sensitize the residents on the core values and importance of sanitation and hygiene. He planned to also have a meeting with the LC1 , sanitation committee and borehole community to talk about the findings from the second evaluation survey. There are many new latrines, shower areas, dish racks, hand washing facilities which are constructed and used. During the visit we meet one of the builders for the hand washing stands who reported to us that he has completed 148 new hand washing stands in the entire community. There is one family of Mr Aggrey who for a very long time has never hand a latrine in his home, it was our first time we walked to his home and met him. We had a dialogue with him discussed the importance and challenges of not having a latrine, spoke about the roles of a husband in a home, asked him if there has been any reasons as to why he has never had a latrine. After the conversation with him, we made an agreement and he accepted to complete all the facilities with no time since he has learnt the lessons of having proper sanitation facilities more so latrines. After we went back for the meeting where the committee members reported a contribution of 260,000 thousand shillings for the borehole repair as they will continue asking other residents to contribute so that kibo can help them to repair their broken borehole.
