Notes
It happened again that when Lorna reached the village at the meeting place community members were on the move again they had lost a little girl from a young mother who got sick and passed on. The burial was communicated for 12pm so the community members went and expected to return for the meeting.however they kept pushing the time. The community members asked that they wait for the other community members before we could start the lesson. They went ahead and told Ivan to go to the funeral place since it was near and ask the community members to return to the meeting , even when Lorna mentioned that no they shouldn’t they went ahead. Ivan went and returned and mentioned that they were yet to bury. We decided instead to go ahead with those who were present and the rest would join in later. The meeting begun with an opening prayer , and Wakiso led us through the review of the previous lesson. He mentioned that other community members don’t attend the lessons but these lessons are for life and that is why we experience challenges in our homes. He then went ahead and thanked those who were present and asked who can remind us of the previous lesson?. Muyodi tried but he wasn’t right and then pastor Wilber tried too and he mentioned managing emotions. Wakiso asked the community members to clap for him. After this he asked Lorna to take over. Lorna thanked him and then talked a bit of the previous lesson which was importance of relationships in the home , with each other and in the community and how it looks like and the results of working together. After this we looked at managing emotions where we saw there will always be times when we get angered, annoyed by our kids, loved ones , neighbors . Lorna asked that in these situations , how should we manage our anger. Lorna gave a scenario of a parent who is angry at their child and shouts at them, abuses and goes ahead to spunk them. Lorna however mentioned before this, one can control themselves. One person mentioned that they walk away but Daniel mentioned walk away to where that one needs to confront the situation. He said however as him he will take the cows to graze and by the time he returns the anger would be gone. He however said that the anger would be gone but his partner may still be angry at that small thing and you find what you have been avoiding is still there and so most men in such situations pack and go. Daniel however asked Lorna and community members to listen to these lesson he took us back abit and mentioned that there is a family where their dad sleeps in the store room because their mother and sons ganged up against him. He mentioned the relationship lessons need to be taught seriously. Also anger issues maybe they were angry with their father. It was such a touching story. Another said they just keep quiet while another person said keeping quiet the other person may say they are ignoring them. Wakiso says that for him he sleeps off while another mentioned by the time they wake up , a slap will be on his face which made everyone laugh. Other strategies to manage anger were, pray, count to 10, walk away, talk to someone about it among others. Other community members joined us at the end of the lesson however Wakiso apologized to them and asked next time they should keep time and come in big numbers. Lorna thanked the community members for coming and asked they turn up in big numbers next week. We will continue with this topic before looking at love as the next topic
