Notes
David and Steven went to nawandyo to continue with the WASH activities. Because it was their fist time in that village they first visited the chairman’s home ,they wanted to introduce themselves before him and later what they would be doing in his village. They told the chairman that they had joined those of Enock just to continue with the sanitation and hygiene activities. The chairman was so happy and called for them the defence of the village and one active Vht who knew exactly the boundaries of the village. They had requested the chairman for them to move together with them in those homes which were lagging behind. They first moved in Kasimu Mpasas home for him he had finished with the digging and construction of his latrine, from there they moved to kizito Kibunduka,s home for him he had finished only the pit left with the construction of the shelter. They continued moving to the third home of Wankayi matiya for him he had just started with the digging of his pit about 4 feet deep. From there they moved to Buruno kibunduka,s home who was also soon finishing with his pit construction. In kasambago Pauls home, they found him digging his pit, lbra kibundukas on seeing Kibo staff decided to run away because he didn’t have a toilet. They encouraged his wife to talk to the husband to construct a toilet instead of running away because the running away wont help him out of his problem .The last home they moved to was for waiswa who left his wife a lame woman at his home and ran away because the the sanitation committee and the chairman of the village were encouraging him to construct a toilet. After they had moved around, David and Steven called all the above mentioned members in a-small meeting to encourage all of them, and the other people about 12 who joined them to double their efforts and also balancing between their garden work and sanitation improvement work. They all agreed to have a set deadline next month. Generally nawandyo village the hygiene status of the majority of homes needs improvement since it has been a rainy season ,most of the rubbish pits have been filled up with soils from the running water, the shower area which were constructed by mud had half way fallen .They plan to call a general meeting to bring everyone on board.
