Notes
Diana and Ida went to Igerera B to introduce lesson one (Trust in God). The community of Igerera B, was ready to receive the community empowerment program. They were so excited as they welcomed us with songs, as Diana and Ida danced a long with them. The Chairperson miss Rose Nasurumbi, thanked the community for attending, and requested them to be attentive to the new lessons that are going to be taught in their community, by the community empowerment program from Kibo organization. Ida thanked them for attending and told them that community empowerment program has its rules which run the program. She said when the lessons are on, the community should not greet one another, if they want to greet, they should do so before the lessons begin or when they have ended. This is to avoid distracting the other community members. She added on that the phones should be in silence, because they also distract people from listening. The last one was members should not be busy in the kitchens cooking for Ida and Diana because they will end up missing out on the lessons. Diana came in thanked Ida for the good rules. Diana asked the community members what they trust in, Sarah said she trusts her husband, Rose said that she trusts in God, Mrs. Mpata said she trusts in her children. Nabwire said that she trusts in her land. Diana thanked everyone for their good participation. She told them it is good to trust in your husbands, children, but they cannot take up the place of God. Diana told them that God is Supreme and owns everything they trust in. Diana told them that in order for people to trust in God, they should saturate their hearts and mind with the word of God. She went on to teach that when people believe in God, they are rewarded with love and safety to get us through tough times. Diana gave an example of the chairman mr. Charles Kamya, who lost a child last week. She told them that it is only God who sees the inside pain and they have to keep praying for him to be strong as he also puts his trust and confidence in God. Ida added on and told the community that they should put their trust in God and not in man who can any time disappoint. She told them that in all their ways, they should acknowledge God, because He will make their paths straight. She quoted the book of Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory by Jesus Christ”, Proverbs 28:26 “ He that trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whosoever walks wisely, he shall be delivered”. She went on with the discussion as she gave examples that backed up the lesson. The community was appreciative and said that this lesson was timely. Their spirits were low and needed a beautiful message to revive them.
