Notes
Harriet and Jeska went to the upper section of Butabira village to continue teaching participants how build fuel efficient stoves . They found when the participants had identified three participants to get stoves , they had already stamped the dirt for the three stoves and pilled it in the kitchen. Kibo staff inspected the dirt and it was well done. This was good to see that this time they were able to successfully mix grass and dirt at the ratio of two to one and stamped it. The participants had also built a stove on their on and asked kibo staff to look at it and see if they did it well . Kibo staff looked at the stove and it was fairly done though the hole for oxygen was put on the wrong direction/ opposite side. This would affect the flow of fire from the pig cooking pot to the small cooking pot. Since the stove was still new, wet and fresh ,kibo staff corrected the mistake as they explained to the community. Kibo staff asked the participants to divide them selves into three groups whereby each group was to build one stove as KIbo guided them.At the end of the day three stoves were successfully built with the guidance from kibo staff. There were two active young boys Jessy and Isiiko who come from the neighboring village to participate in the program. They said that they want to learn how to build stoves so that they can also help their community to build stoves who may pay them some money.
