Notes
Enock made a visit with the subcounty health assistant to also monitor, assess and evaluate the progress of sanitation improvements in this community. They walked around the lower section where the chairman LC1 comes from to continue checking on the latrine construct, dish racks, rubbish pits, kitchen areas, hand washing stands and usage emphasize standardization as well as building a good relationship with the community. As we walked around we guided the residents to construct good firm foundation for the latrines, encouraged and taught the residents to construct soap pits and make proper drainage system for shower areas so that they are kept clean and hygienic, taught the reminded the residents on how it’s so important to wash hands with soap, encouraged the children to help their parents and clean compounds, dig rubbish pits as their parents are busy working hard in the gardens to get food for the home as well as use the surplus for paying their tuition. The children who we met appreciated the lessons and promised to continue helping their parents more for with house chores and improving their sanitation and hygiene. We saw about 7 newly constructed hand washing stands near the latrines, two new latrine holes under construction, two new rubbish pits and one home with a new shower area constructed with cement on top. During the visit, more emphasis was put on the local leaders to continue being exemplary construct sustainable facilities as they set a good example to the community residents.

2021-11-11 - Purpose: They will continue focus more on dish rack construction which has a law percentage and bring them up to speed.
