Notes
Tape and Suzan went to the village and carried out a home to home visit. This was intended to find out weather the participants have the home facilities required for the healthy and safe kitchens program as well,as to mobilize the community members for the next coming meeting. When they arrived, they were welcomed by some village local leaders and among them was the chairman L.C.1 who were already at the meeting place. Kibo staffs requested the leaders to walk along with them while visiting different homes and mobilize the members for the next coming lessons. Together they began walking house to house while monitoring different facilities, and on the way, the chairperson informed Kibo staffs that most homes were scattered apart whereby one can walk a further distance before reaching the next home. He also said his village has got few community members who are mostly related to each other. Tape and Suzan observed that the community has enough land but with a few people. They found all the women cooking on the traditional three stones open flames while others didn’t have kitchens and were cooking food from an open space. Most buildings were not smeared and needed to be reconstructed because they had cracks all over them threatening to collapse any time. Suzan and Tape also kept on requesting the members to attend the next coming meeting to take place in the following week so that they can officially introduce the program to the community and discuss more about the home to home findings. Kibo staff members thanked the leaders for their time and wished them a happy stay.
