Notes
Enock made a visit to check on the progress of sanitation improvements more emphasis on latrine compilation, rubbish pits, dish racks, shower areas, kitchen areas focus on hand washing. During this visit we saw many new latrines which are constructed with bricks, cement and sand. New shower areas which are constructed next to the latrines, we taught them how to make drainage systems to keep the shower dry and clean and dig a soak pit where water go so that mosquitoes don’t have breeding spots. This is the first village which has got many new hand washing stations and all in usage with soap. The trading centre has greatly embraced the importance of sanitation where many shops have constructed good hand washing facilities, using Omo detergent inside the jerrycans to wash there hands. There is a gentleman called ibrahim, Ali and swag who for a longtime never had latrines in there homes. The good news is they have completed digging out latrine holes and now constructing structures on them. The community is happy that the most hard people have now taken the responsibility to construct latrines after learning the core values of sanitation and hygiene. The chairman plus the committee members are thankful for the lessons and improvements they have got in their homes. The neighbors got village are also asking the the chairman and the people who we taught to construct hand washing stands to go to their village and teach them how to construct sustainable hand washing stands. At the moment in the neighboring village about 6 homes have new hand washing stands and all in use.
