Notes
AlexW and Alex B went to Bupaluka to follow up on members who received goats and check the health of the goats ,and continue to advise them accordingly. They met the community leaders and guided them through the plans of making sure they monitor the progress of all the goats as they prepare for introduction of the lesson on self progress. The meeting began with prayer that was led by Saul the chairperson of the community members. He after gave a short report about the goats and said that when goats were received, they had some challenges as they had flue and sneezing .The members managed to treat them and are were responding well .The chairperson Lc1 Wuta welcomed everyone and thanked kibo group for the goats that were given to the community. Alex W and Alex B continued to encourage all members on three key issues including feeding, treatment and shelter for goats. They also introduced a key aspect of how to return the goat offsprings to the community pool. This was a welcomed idea by all the community members and agreed to meet once again to agree whether each member can return a live offspring goat or inform of money. During this discussion, one member called Tapenesi suggested that a fee should be agreed instead of a live goat whereby majority of the community members backed this idea. This will enable the community to do more community economic development projects. The community members were reminded not to forget the main reason why they received these goats from kibo and for that reason, a follow up by the leaders and kibo would be conducted every after three months and on top of that a clinic camp be set up whereby a veterinary doctor would be available to treat all the goats at once. The community members agreed and welcomed this idea, they accepted to contribute money together to treat their goats . The goal is for MCD program to make follow up on these goats for at least one year of which it should be believed that all goats would have given birth before conducting a final evaluation and exit the village. It was agreed that in the month of February, there will be a follow up on the progress of the community activities and set up a clinic to treat all the goats
