Healthy and Safe Kitchens
Notes
Suzan went back to the village and was able to finish up with the first evaluation process that day. During the home to home visit, she came across one of the helpless elderly participants called Apiyo who was also a widow and living with her grandchildren. Although she didn’t participate much in the program lessons due to her illness, one of her grand child managed to build for her an efficient saving stove which she reported that she was enjoying to cook on it because it saved time and firewood yet it cooked faster. Suzan also observed that most buildings around her were well smeared and looked neat both from inside and outside parts. The members were found cooking on their improved stoves with no complaints although some participants needed to repair other facilities which were getting destroyed by the storms. She thanked everyone for the good work done and encouraged them to continue expanding the program to the neighboring communities which can also enable them earn some money afterwards. The community was grateful for the new ideas and promised to scale out to the neighboring villages during their free times. Suzan requested the members to continue working together for an effective development and to always welcome any other new Kibo group program and then wished them a happy Xmas season.
