Notes
Tom planned to make a,visit to Buluvu village to check and update the hand washing data. When he arrived in the village, the chairman told him that him and other leaders were going to Bulange subcounty for an urgent meeting so he suggested another day for moving around and updating the evaluation. With that To, decided to make a visit to Mpumiro to meet the committee members and discuss about some of the lessons learned from the RDC and LC5 chairman’s speech. The committee members were so appreciative that Kibo took the district leaders to them and that they learned so much From their speeches. The chairman water user committee said the RDC’s speech was so important because it elevated their work and position and leaders and it was in line with the lessons learned with Tom for such as the borehole user roles and responsibilities and the leaders roles and responsibilities. He also said said that when they had a follow up meeting the next day as a village to reflect on the district leaders meeting and messages, he said that the women who were present at the meeting with the district leaders were teachers to those who had missed it. The chairman said this was very important because it emphasized what them as leaders had been telling the residents and it was good because now every village members understands how important it is to embrace the borehole as theirs and also putting in place what they learnt. He also said now residents abide by the rules and regulations put in place to govern the borehole. They also went on to mention and appreciate Kibo group for other lessons and department such as life skills and the stove program. They said kibo works to improve their lives as a whole from sanitation to clean water, lessons in life skills and now the stove program.
