- Tom made a visit to Namutumba district to meet with the water officer and discuss about the challenges they have had in 2021 and how well Kibo WASH program can work better with the district and other partners in the district such as other NGO in the wash sector.
The water water officer first appreciated what Kibo has done in the district across all sectors. He appreciated more KIbo for the improvement in Namutumba water sector. He applauded Kibo for its commitment to continue working in Namutumba and he said next year the district will offer its full support to the Wash team because now the water department at the district has a vehicle.
Tom requested that for every triggering carried out, he requested that the district officials be present because it adds value and weight to the activities done on that day. Tom also thanked the water officer for his participation in the recently concluded commissioning of three boreholes.
The water officer also thanked Kibo for organizing that function because it was very powerful and he was happy that the RDC and the district chairman LC5 was also a part of it.
On the issue of proper coordination and collaboration,he said a meeting will he scheduled through the district water sector under the district NGO forum to discuss about the WASH operations in the district between the district and other partners (NGOs). Some of the ideas discussed about were for every partner not to overlap or duplicate work of another partner in a particular village to prevent duplication of activities.
Other members of the meeting were also thankful to kibo and requested for Kibo’s continued work and efforts in the district.
