Notes
Tom made a visit to kalalu village for drilling. When he arrived in the village With the drillers, they found the village residents already gathered at the proposed site waiting for Tom and the drillers. When they saw the rigs and Tom, the residents burst into excitement dancing and singing. The water user committee members were very happy to see they what they had been promised as a village was being fulfilled by kibo. They were over joyed. Tom told them that they should be grateful to the lord because all what Kibo does is for Gods glory and they are happy that finally the village was to get water. There was an old lady who was very happy and could not stop dancing. She said she was so blessed because in her entire life, she never thought such would ever happen to her that a borehole could be drilled next to her home. The drillers set up their rigs and on about an hour, they started drilling. St a depth of about 16 meters, the compressor broke down. They tried to fix it but their engineers told them they had to take the compressor back to Kampala for fixing. They offloaded the pipes that were on the truck carrying the compressor. Tom held a meeting with the village residents to explain what was going on and their responsibilities to take care of the remaining truck and all the pipes and other materials offloaded. The residents said they will take care of everything left behind by spending the night at the site to protect the mater. The water user committee members committed to spending the night at rye site. The drillers promised the village that they would be back the next day to continue with the drilling and Tom promised the residents that Kibo representatives would be available the next day for the drilling as well.
