Notes
Tom made a visit to Buluvu village go update the third evaluation. Together with the chairman, they moved around the village before updating the data to make sure that those homes indeed improved. In the homes visited, they found that all of those homes that did not have latrines when the third evaluation was being collected had constructed latrines. Tom and the chairman also found in some homes new structures of latrines. Some were being constructed and some were new. Tom was encouraged to see that residents were maintaining. To those that were still constructing but had old latrines, Tom encouraged them to work hard and finish the new facilities b fore the rain seasons come. The chairman of the village also committed to always moving around the village to make sure that every resident is maintaining. In one particular home, they found a resident who had recently lost his latrine to bad weather. Instead of constructing a temporary structure, he dug a pit of 30ft and had started on the construction of the concrete slab. The lady in the home said she wants to construct a better latrine for her old age and her Gand children. Tom appreciated her for her hard work and commitment to maintaining her home well.

25063 The kibo borehole has been well maintained but they have had the challenge of maintaining the borehole fence. Tom encouraged them to mobilize for funds to build the concrete wall fence instead
25066 This resident has started on new permanent latrine to replace the old one she had. This is a good sign of sustainability and behavioral change in sanitation and hygiene improvements were residents work hard to replace the existing old facilities with better facilities
