Notes
Tom made a,visit to kalalu village to supervise and document the borehole drilling process. The drilling process went well even though the drillers had some challenges of the hole collapsing. The used the temporary casing to control the collapsing and the drilling was successfully. As the drilling went on, Tom encouraged the chairman of the water user committee to mobilize the residents to collect the materials for the borehole wall fence such as bricks, gravel and sand. The residents participated well both men and women. During the process of putting in the permanent casings, 3 screen casings were installed and 17 plain casings making a total of 20 casings. The drillers put the water yield at 3500 liters per hours but this will be confirmed by the pump testing team.
