Notes
Manuela went to Nawaibete village to teach the community members about Disease Progression and positive living , this lesson is aimed at enabling the community members to test for HIV for more than once. Disease Progression is the time between infection and the time when an infected person starts showing symptoms and signs that are associated with AIDS. Positive living is the practice which is supposed to be practiced among the HIV positive people with HIV so that they can live longer.
After Manuela teaching this lesson one of the community members who is HIV positive appreciated Manuela for teaching them this lesson because most of the community members don’t mind to go and test for HIV and that has led to increase of HIV transmission in that village. Community members said that they will start visiting health centres to check their health status.
One woman said that they really want to know their health status but their husbands don’t want to go to the hospital. This has made Manuela to plan to have a separate meeting with the men in that village and teach them about the importance of early testing of sexually transmitted diseases because it will help them to start treatments in time which is good.
