- Notes
- Lorna went to Ikumbya after a 3 weeks break where she went to mobilize the community members concerning the resuming of the Life Skills program.
On arrival, she was met with the secretary and later on joined by other 2 people.
Lorna walked with the 3 leaders to about 20 homes where she was wishing them a happy new year and thanking them for maintaining their hygiene and sanitation and also reminding them that in the next week we will be resuming our lessons.
The downside however , there were very many sick people both young children and old people alike. A lot of cold and cough going around. Some children had cannulas on their hand which showed they were getting treatment. Lorna encouraged them to drink a lot of fluids, keep themselves active and also get treatment. Next week we will be resuming our lessons. We then went back to the meeting place and Lorna thanked the leaders for their work and mentioned to them that this year we are looking at having the entire village participate in the program and that she will need their help in achieving this. After this meeting we left for Jinja.
