Notes
Suzan visited the village purposely to carry out a home to home visit at the upper section while mobilizing the community for the coming healthy and safe kitchens program. When she arrived, she was welcomed by two ladies madam Nabirye farida and Nabirye Rehema who are in the L.C.1 committee group. The two ladies walked along with Suzan house to house while monitoring some facilities required by the program as well as informing the community about the next coming meeting. During the process, Suzan observed that the water and sanitation program had done a great job because almost all the homes visited had well constructed latrines, shower areas and dish racks although they were not smeared. She briefly kept on explaining to the members what the program was all about such as empowering them with the skills of the healthy and safe kitchens especially by improving on cooking methods in the kitchens. For more information, she requested the members to continue mobilizing their fellow friends and family and attend the coming program meeting which will be communicated as soon as possible. The members seemed to be excited about the healthy and safe kitchens program and promised to attend all the lessons. It was also reported that the village is big with many people and to make the program effective enough, Kibo staffs will use the new approach of forming small groups during the program implementation which will enable each one to participate in the lessons. Suzan thanked the leaders for their time and planned for another visit in the coming week.
