Tom made a visit to kitukiro village to supervise and document the drilling process of kitukiro village.
He arrived when the drillers had started drilling and their target was to hit the desired depth of 54 meters. During the drilling, they hit water at the depth between 32meters and 34 meters. From that depth the amount of water flowing was steady. They drilled up the desired depth of 54 meters.
They were able to blow and clear the water. During the blowing and clearing process, the community members were very excited to see clean water coming from the hole being drilled. They thanked the drillers as well as kibo for the clean water they had seen.
One resident said they thought it was a lie and many thought they would not get water in their area. They thanked kibo for fulfilling the promise. During that time, Tom met with some of the committee members to remind them of their roles and responsibilities especially Maintaining the sanitation and hygiene as well as mobilizing residents for materials to construct the borehole wall fence. The drillers also before leaving spoke to the committee about their role in protecting the home and keeping it safe from children who might throw things in the home to block or contaminate the hole.
This market the last day for the drillers in the village.
