Notes
Ida went to Bukoma C to meet with the members and discuss how to reach out to the entire community. The chairperson Erima asked the community members to share ideas because they are the residents and know the causes of poor attendance. Fauza said that some members work outside Bukoma in different districts such as Jinja,Mayuge, Bugiri, Iganga etc. This issue has contributed a lot towards poor attendance. Namukose said that most men moved to Kampala for work , so their wives were left behind with the responsibility of running the home which forces them to go and work in sugarcane plantations. So they don’t have time for meetings maybe if the meeting day is changed to Sunday. Kafuko suggested that the chairperson should call the general meeting and divide the community in two groups such that those who come from the far end don’t walk for so long. Ouma said that those who need development will willingly come, but no one is going to force anybody to attend meetings. Ida thanked everyone for their contributions towards the improvement of attendance and encouraged members to mobilize so that next time we see some new faces. The chairperson dismissed the meeting and Erima closed with a prayer.

Program Success
Bukoma community has done well with poultry farming. Ida asked Ikumbya Community to help teach Bukoma since both communities are in the same sub county. Nabirye the chairperson from Ikumbya made plans and started teaching Bukoma C. Bukoma is now teaching Kidiki village how to rear chickens for both food and business. This is a sign of sustainability which is good.
