On their way to the two schools, Manuela and Lorna picked up the Inspector of schools from Bulange where together with the District Education officers , were inspector some of the schools in that sub county. After picking Sarah, we went to Mpumiro primary school and while here, we were welcomed by the teachers and shown to the administration office where the health inspector introduced us to both the head teacher and his deputy. The head teacher who was well conversant with Life Skills program was excited that we were back to to Mpumiro Primary School to resume the program. Mr. Steven was very excited and went ahead to arrange the pupils/ students that we can greet them. We met the pupils and thanked them for coming back to school and that we were going to resume our program. They were happy that we gave them a second chance since Covid. After Mpumiro we headed for Bulyowa where at Bulyowa , we found almost the whole school gathered under a tree. On asking what was going in, the deputy mentioned that a pupil/ student had lost a parent and so the school was going to the funeral. The Inspector of schools was a little concerned on why the whole school would go to a funeral . She asked where the head teacher was and was informed that he had gone to the district. Sarah introduced Manuela and Lorna to him and then we talked about resuming the program. Thereafter we went out to meet with the students. Manuela and Lorna greeted the pupils / students and told them they made a right decision coming back to school since some of their friends they know have dropped out, are pregnant or married. The health inspector thanked them for keeping themselves during these past 2 years and also went ahead and thanked them for giving teachers back their jobs. This is because when schools were shut, the teachers did not have jobs. She urged the teachers, staff of both schools to work together with the Life Skills staff and also the children to respect them and listen to them. After this we left for Jinja.
