Notes
Tape went to the village purposely to guide the community to choose their own leaders that will coordinate the healthy and safe kitchens program and form policies that will govern the program. When she arrived, she found when the community had already gathered at the meeting place and she first began by asking them why it was important to have leaders in a community or any organization program. Tape was so pleased to see that most members gave correct answers to the questions asked and each one was given chance to participate in the lessons. Most of them replied saying that leaders are important because they enable the programs ran smoothly and effective to the community development. Tape added by explaining how the program activities will be implemented effectively once they select good leaders of their choice since they know them better. The selected leaders who came from all the three sections of the village were the group chairperson madam Fida and her vise chairperson, the Secretary, three mobilizers, Time keeper, treasurer and a disciplinary officer. Later on, Tape guided the community to form their policies that will govern the program, for example when any member goes to the meeting late, she/he will pay a fine of five hundred Ugandan shillings. This will enable all the members to report on time and participate effectively in all the program activities. Tape also encouraged everyone to participate in all the program lessons and to always report to their leaders once they fell sick or unable to attend in case of any program.
