Notes
Martin went to ltuba Namalowe to check on sanitation and hygiene improve, especially from the sanitation of the trading centre towards the upper section passing via the primary school back to the trading centre. He walked around that section with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee member. They were checking on the construction of the sanitation facilities such as dish racks, rubbish pits, shower facilities as well as digging and construction of latrines. They were impressed and happy to see that four people in that section are working so hard on their latrines like Jane Namuwaya’s latrine was broken by the heavy rain, it’s already constructed, Sulaymani Bavekuno he is digging a pit latrine it’s now 6ft deep,
Hawali Sale was also broken, but it’s already constructed, Swaga started digging a new pit latrine. They were encouraging them about the standards, maintenance, hand washing as well as the use of ash to eliminate flies and get rid of smell. Martin and the group walked in 32 homes.
Sulayi Sajabbi a community member of the nearby village called Namuwondo is requesting Kibo to go and help them about sanitation and hygiene in their homes.
