Notes
Maria went to Kishaike, to do a review of the lessons so far taught, discuss about dividing the village. The meeting started by a word of prayer from Kateme, thereafter the VHT welcomed everyone in the meeting, encouraging them to come in time, Maria was then invited to speak to the community members. Maria welcomed the members in the meeting , reminding them to go for Covid-19 vaccinations, informing everyone that the government has secured vaccines for COVID-19. Then Maria together with the participants started discussing about the topic, reviewing all the lessons taught before the year ended and discussing the new approach of reaching every house hold. About COVID-19 vaccination, Some members said that they have finished all the jabs though others had gone for immunization because the medical workers from the nearest health facility had put another point in this village to vaccination against COVID-19. The Participants mentioned some topics; Accessing medical services, personal hygiene, oral care, gender role in maternal infant and child health (MCH), breastfeeding and complementary feeding, focused antenatal among others. Aidah said that personal hygiene is the topic she can never forget, because it helped her in identifying the risks of not keeping her body clean, how to improve on her hygiene, ways of keeping her body, teeth clean and learning how to brush. Maria encouraged members to put into practice whatever lessons they have learned in health education program and in other Kibo programs that were there before. Then Maria together with the participants discussed the new approach of reaching everyone in the village, Maria reminded them to choose a day, venue. The VHT and the members present welcomed the idea saying it will help the entire community, choosing Wednesday and the lower section as the new meeting point. Basing on the total number of households in this village which is (104), the community members agreed to divide the village into two section- upper section and lower section. We will be targeting 52 households in the upper section and 52 households in the lower section. The meeting ended with a word of prayer from Rose.
