Maria went to Nawandyo A, to make a review of the lessons that were taught in the lower section and also teach about Sexually transmitted diseases and Urinary tract infection. The chairperson welcomed the upper members in the meeting, Annet opened with a word of prayer thereafter the chairperson Mr Dan gave his remarks. He encouraged the members to love the program, participants in the meetings, mobilize others who have not come. He then invited Maria to take over. Maria welcomed members, reintroduced the program, the organization, and her name to the members. Then she introduced the topic of the day as reviewing the lessons taught in the lower section and later learning about Sexually transmitted diseases and Urinary tract infection. Maria started from the first topic on the flowchart which is Accessing medical services, inquiring what hinders them from going to hospitals, explaining the services offered in the hospitals, identifying the emergencies and how to care for an emergency. Members mentioned a lot of challenges; lack of drugs in hospitals, absence of health workers among others but Maria promised to get one medical worker from the nearest health facility to come and make some clarities. Continuing with our discussion, Maria shared all the lessons covered in the lower section; family planning, gender role in MCH, personal hygiene, oral care, infant, burns, Uganda’s major infectious diseases, communicable diseases, gastrointestinal worms, menstrual hygiene, breastfeeding and complementary feeding, immunization, postnatal care and post abortion care,focused antenatal. After Maria gave a detailed explanation and information about each topic. Kagoya shared her experience of a certain neighbor who pass on because the husband did not take her to hospital in time while in labor. The mother bleed to death , even the child later passed on, this came because she did not go to hospital when she was in labor. The health educator encouraged everyone mostly the mothers to go for antenatal, to go hospital as early as possible while in labor, the husband to take care of their wive. Further still, kateme thanked the Kibo staff for the knowledge given and for creating another meeting point, kateme said this after acquiring knowledge about Immunization how it is done, what is given , when it is given and the different types of diseases that are to immunized. Members were advised by Kibo staff to take the knowledge given, put all advises into practice and to keep coming in the meeting and also mobilize other members to come. The chairperson ended the meeting with a word of prayer.
