Notes
Maria and Irene went to Kishaike village, make a door to door mobilization, informing community members from the lower section the new meeting point, time, day, also checking on the pregnant mothers, their children, breastfeeding mothers and general hygiene of the community mostly the lower section. The walk started from the extreme end, the Kibo staff moved around together with the village VHT asking community members from the lower section the main reason why they don’t attend the health education lessons. Some members shared their reasons with the health educators, saying that the meeting point is far, some said they thought it is for a certain gender or group of people. Maria and Irene explained to the community members what really is in the health lessons, informed them of the new meeting point, time, day and also introduced the mobilizers for the lower section, Irene said that all people are welcome in the meeting. The village has 104 households and we’re expecting to get around 52 participants in every section. During the walk, we came across Hassifa who has been pregnant and active in the health lessons, Hassifa gave birth from the hospital following the advise of a health educator. She is one of the women who got mama kit from Kibo. With a lot of joy, Hassifa thanked Kibo staffs and promised to mobilize some members in the lower section.
