Harriet went to Namusita village to guide participants to choose leaders that will coordinate the healthy and safe kitchens program. The meeting begun with an open prayer that was led by one of the community member Alice who thanked the lord for providing journey mercies to kibo staff. Harriet told the participants topic will be community centered whereby she expected every one to actively participate. She asked the community to discuss more qualities of good leaders before they chose them so that they choose them basing on those factors and these were some of the responses. a good leader should be exemplary, should be flexible, time manager. Also another woman Byogero said that,a good leader must be neutral while judging issues that is should listen first from both parties before concluding about the two conflicting parties. Another person said that a good leader should command respect from the people he/ she leads gave an example that for some one who is quarrelsome not to qualify to be a leader. The community then chose leaders to coordinate the healthy and safe kitchen program and the committee comprised of 7 women and one man and the Chairperson was a woman called Farida. The interesting part of the exercise is that, these leaders came from four different corners of the village meaning that the village was fully represented as far as program leadership is concerned.Harriet thanked the leaders for having accepted to take up leadership and reminded them that they will play their leadership roles on voluntary basis. She also asked the community to be cooperative with these leaders for the program to be successful. Harriet told them that these leaders will coordinate the healthy and safe kitchen program between the community and kibo group and will used as direct contact in case any thing/ change of the program need to be communicated to the community o r to kibo group if not physical may be through the phone call. For example incase there is an immunization exercise in the village on the day planned for the meeting, the committee should communicate to kibo to change plans because some people may be required to go for immunization. Also incase kibo staff had planned for the meeting with the community , he or she gets sick or his / her child is sick and can’t go to the village to staff will council the meeting through the leaders who will communicate to the entire village. The newly elected committee led by the chairperson Farida promised to work tirelessly / closely with the community and kibo for the benefit of the community that has entrusted them with leadership. She also asked the community to cooperate with them because with out team work nothing can be achieved. The community promised to be cooperative for the program activities because the program will direct benefit them . The also promised to work with their own leaders that they chose as a community. 
Next Visit
2022-02-14 - Purpose: To guide participants to form policies that will govern the healthy and safe kitchens program and introduce smearing.
Program Success
A man in the community member who lacked a kitchen in home was encouraged by Harriet to build a kitchen for his wife and he did so.

Need for stoves because most people cook on open flames.
