- Maria went to Nawandyo A upper section, to teach about diarrhea and pneumonia. The meeting was opened with a word of prayer from Yahaya, thereafter the VHT welcomed all members in the meeting thanking them for keeping time and turning up in bids numbers. Maria was invited to speak to the community members. The discussion started by identifying the different signs and symptoms of diarrhea and pneumonia, what causes diarrhea and pneumonia, the complications one will develop in case pneumonia is not handled well. Participants shared how they have been managing diarrhea from home, Sarah said that there is a harb she gives to her children before taking them to hospital. Then Maria encouraged all the participants to rush to hospital for a proper treatment because diarrhea can cause dehydration which may result in loss of life. Maria reminded the participants to take their children for immunization just as they were taught. Most of these diseases can be prevented through immunization. Thereafter Maria demonstrated how to make (ORS) oral rehydration solution locally using sugar, salt, and water. The meeting was closed with a word of prayer from Naisanga.
